Question about an E316G

Ok, Me and a friend ripped apart my E316G and found something odd with the turbine blades. They were incredibly light and spun really well with no lube. By any chance do they come with titanium blades? I got it from FP.

Compressor wheel = Cast Aluminum
Turbine wheel = Inconel

Not exactly sure what "really light" means....what were you comparing it to?

A smaller turbo generally spins easier, but will stop spinning quicker than a larger turbo due to their size. There is less inertia. This is generally why smaller turbos (example, Small 16G) will spool quicker than a bigger turbo (example, GT42).

Turbine / compressor size isn't the only determining factor of a turbo's spool or efficiency....there's also area / radius, housing size, compressor trim, and other wonderful digits that would take me hours to fully explain and leave you even more confused than you already are.

I mean really light as in the effort it took to spin it. It was almost like the wheel was gliding on the the turbo, Like it was really light with no friction.

Why did you take the turbo apart again? BTW, you want it to spin freely...
