Q about the MKIV intercooler

Im in a real need for a better intercooler than this crappy stocker. After just a few runs the thing is completely heat soaked, especially with the 14b on it. My question is concerning the pipes that go to the endtanks. Right now i have a set of dejontool hard pipes that are 2.25 diameter set up for the 2g/14b. After searching, i found that the placing of the intercooler can be a pain but i was unable to find anything on whether they would fit the dejontool hard pipes. Can someone help me out here?

End tanks on a modified supra IC will be 2.5"... From what I understand, if the endtanks are flipped and mounts welded on for the stock location, you'll need to trim the back of the corner flasher on that side as well as cut away some of the frame in the engine bay to enlarge the IC hole cuz it doesn't line up perfectly with the stock location. You can connect it to the pipes you have now, but you'll need to buy a coupler to go from 2.25" to 2.5". I bought one from Menards for my 2.5" UICP to mate to the SMIC outlet of 2.25", it's rubber and you have to bring pipes to check fit cuz the size measurements they have posted aren't accurate for our application.

thanks for the info. I knew the endtanks had to be flipped and that i would need a reducer. I was just wondering if it would work with my hard pipes. I've heard of people using the stock piping, but thats more flexible. I guess it means im lookin for a MKIV i/c.

if you mean "hang out" as in go somewhere and park or go to the strip and cruise, i dont really do that. I just go out with my friends to movies, play pool or whatever. I actually think i may have seen your car before. Guess it depends on how many red 2g gsx's are in canton. Lord knows theres plenty of hondas. Anyway when im not with my friends, i got the wifey at home. My life can be summed up as keepin the wife happy, chillin with the boys, and cussing my car out for breakin' down again.
