OK so my family owns a plumbing buisness so I literly have 1000s of feet of every size of PVC pipe you can think of along with all the elbows and connectors LOL are there any creative ideas peaple have Come up with in the past? Just curious I'm all about buying good named brand parts but if there's any good things that have been made with PVC let me know

everyone has an opinion. but it has worked fine for me.
Underhood temps, noxious fumes, and the fact that this is for PLUMBING are not opinions. Did you spend the big bucks for duct tape couplers, too???

Thanks.

Here's a neato post I dug up for you using my Google search time machine. I left out the ability to withstand pressure being compromised with temps:

Given your Chinese exhaust manifold choice, I'd step away from the pipe (double entendre).

thanks for the thread. interesting read. looks like the conclusion was made for it to just be after the ic. given it is by far better to go with aluminum ic piping. regarding my headers, i hate them too. they were put on by the previous owner and being a college student its hard to scrape up spare cash. have a good day! :thumb:

I didn't read the entire thread so don't hate me. But I knew a local Honduh guy that did his intercooler pipes in flat black PVC piping. It actually didn't look half bad to be honest. Schedule 40 (I think) can hold like 100PSI of water pressure so I really don't see why it wouldn't work for your car, as long as it doesn't melt! :tease:

everyone has an opinion. but it has worked fine for me. no stress or melting or even boost leaks. weird that something that is many times cheaper and barely decreases effecientcy is considerd "dumb" in your eyes

I have a decent amount I could say about this regarding just the reliability and engineering aspects, but disregarding all that, there is one question I need to ask.

How much money is your shame worth? Do you really want to open your hood to show people your engine and have PVC intercooler piping be the first thing they see?

I just, uh.. wow.

If we pretend (which it looks like several of you are good at) for a moment that the glaring drawbacks to using PVC don't exist, lets consider that if you are so pressed on cash that aluminum f*cking tubes are out of the question you should not be modifying what is almost assuredly your only car.

"My boss fired me for not coming in when my PVC J-pipe melted again from being to close to the manifold"
is not going to endear any sympathy.
