putting in exhaust... question

i got the punishment racing downpipe and a cheap Bomz racing cat back... my question is will this effect performance, sound, anything?

i know its hard to see but it narrows down from the cat to the downpipe...

everything is 3" except that flange im guessing it is downsized to fit the stock cat.

i will post sound clips of before and after a long with pics tomorrow once its installed

Will it affect performance? Yes. Will you notice? No.

I don't even understand why they make those setups. Going from a smaller diameter pipe to a larger diameter is no problem because you're going from high pressure to low pressure, but if you go big to small it creates turbid exhaust flow and that's just boo!

if you are really concerned, you could take it to an exhaust shop and have them cut that section out and weld in a 3" section to make it all less "turbid" and a lot less "Boo". haha.

Or just buy a Megan 3" and PR DP. Problem solved.

I had a similar problem. The downpipe I ordered from ebay turned out to be different then the listing said and necked down to meet the stock cat. I don't know why anyone would ever install a 3" downpipe with the stock cat-back unless there was a cutout or something. Anyway just use the suggestion to go to exhaust shop and have that section replaced, it's much cheaper then purchasing another exhaust.
