Alright well... i havent ever taken out axles before but i got the motor back in my car and i am going to put the axles in tomorrow. When i was taking the axles out the driver side came out easy but the passenger side was pretty bad. When the axles came out some kind a fluid came out of the holes. My best guess is this is tras fluid. But what makes it weird is only a little bit came ou and what did come out looked like old used oil. if it is tranny fluid what do i put back in it...Sorry to make this sound stupid if its obvoius but i dont know. Thanks in advance.

By the way.. anyone ever have the problem of the driver side axle being seezed inside the wheel bearing. Mine is like that....

One last thing... gotta fill all my fluids back up ... i mean everything... could someone please gimme a list of what fuilds to get for things like Brake fluid, Trans fluid, clutch fluid and power steering fluid... I guess you have to learn sometime... thats why this is posted in the newbie sectionWTF

Trans fluid was leaking out of your transmission from where the axles go in. You should put in some Pennzoil syncromesh (can get it at Autozone) or some BG syncroshift. The axle is stuck in the hub? That happened to me, I just had to beat it out basically, but be careful to not mess up the hub. Fluids:
Transmission, oil, brake/clutch (same fluid), coolant, power steering, washer fluid.

Yeah sometimes the axle can get stuck in the wheel bearing...I've had some luck using a blow torch and a sledge hammer...sometimes I've had to cut the axle and buy an entirely new hub...

I think he means like brands that are good for those fluids. The synchromesh is a good idea, and for oil, it really depends on who you ask. Some guys use synthetics, others use dino-oil, royal purple is a good brand from what I hear. 5w-30 and 10w-30 are generally the consensus of viscosity, etc. I think any brand of anti-freeze and power steering fluid are the same. Brake fluids vary enormously, with different dry and wet boiling points. It all depends on personal preference, as I stated before.

I have been stuck with the same problem..Some PB Blaster and a nice heavy hammer..

There's a drain plug in the bottom of the trans. The fill plug is in the front of the trans about half way up. Both are 17 mm. The clutch fluid is dot 3 brake fluid. It's the "little" reservoir. The brake master cylinder is the "big" reservoir. Same for it. Dot 3

I have an actual puller for helping get the axles out of seized situations. However as expensive as it is, I couldn't recommend it for the diy person. Sometimes a torch and large hammer works pretty well.

Just be careful.
Good Luck

Alright sweet... go the car started but having more problems now.... i made a new thread for it... its titled clutch squeeking after putting motor back in. Having trouble with clutch and power steering pump... i appreciate all the help im getting.
