like the title says, i put an ebay UDP on, and it ran fien for like a day or 2, and since then, the car doesnt start up right, like normally when i would start it, rpms will go to about 2000-2100 and stay for a second and gradually drop to about 1000 til warm, but now when i start it up, it goes to about 1000, and almost seems like its gonna die, but it doesnt, and when i go to drive it, it almost stalls as soon as i take my foot of the gas, or come to a stop, it almost feels as if when i touch the brakes, the car shuts off, it doesnt even seem like its running, and the rpms will drop like 1 line b4 0 but go up a little, then back down to about 200 and idle there, whats wrong?

yesterday i was driving and came to a hill, so i put the car in neutral, and the rpms just dropped down to about 100 or less, no joke, the car practically died right there, but it stayed running at about 200 rpms. and when i got home, i put the a/c on for a second to see what would happen, and when i turned it off, it did the same exact thing, dropped to almost 0. im gonna try a vacuum test today to see if that shows me anything

Did you check the belt tension to make sure there is no "slack/play" in it? Did you touch anything else on the car while installing the udp? It should have only been 4 10mm bolts you had to take out I believe, Nothing else. If you hadto get the belt loose, Did you make sure the alternator adjuster was tightened again(As I first said, Check for slack in the belt.)

yeah, we tightened the belts, they may be able to go tighter, but im not sure. i just checked vacuum as well, it was at a steady 16, and when i would rev it by the TB, it would go down a lot, the go way up to about 20, then drop down and back to 16, but then the car died, it stalled on me

the only code thats on is 21, for the o2 sensor, but thats been on there since last year, my car hasnt been this bad period

ive had the car for a little over 2 years now, always did my oil change at 3 months, changed plugs 3-4 times, and wires once last year. im not sure about the ecu? how would i check it? i bought a new fuel filter, hoping thats why its stalling, im hoping to put that on today

Defintly check out the ECU. I have a 90 non turbo and in the 90's the ecu goes bad it happened to a couple people i know and i had to replace mine i know you have a 96 but who knows maybe the same problem i think its worth looking into. I dought its the air filter only cause it would have to be incrussed with dirt or maybe you sucked in some water some how but defintly check the ECU.

yeah, i just replaced my filter a few months back, and the one i replaced was pretty bad, and it ran fine then, so i doubt its this one. and how would i go about checking the ecu?
