Put my TSI on the dyno 272hp 270tq!

So I put my TSI on the dyno today and I made 272hp and 270tq. Extremely happy cause I was shooting for 220 and was going to be exstatic if I made 240.

Mods:
2 in to a 3 in down pipe (no cat)
3 inch cat back with a gutted can
Evo 8 front mount
Hard piping
HKS SSQV 4 bov
14b turbo

On 10psi I made 208
On 14psi I made 250 (currently on this boost)
On 16psi I made 272hp and 270tq

The only problem.....why am I having boost creep with a 14b??? I know with a 16g it is possible but why would the 14b be doing it?? Any help would be awesome thanks guys!!
 
Those are pretty good numbers for such low boost. Any reason you stopped at 16psi? I see you have Evo 560's, but I'm guessing stock pump?

Boost creep isn't unheard of with the 14b, it's just more common on the 16g. The cause is simple: Too little exhaust flow through the wastegate. Just treat it like a creeping 16g and try the typical fixes.
 
Good number I would also like to know what you have fore fuel? I am sure stock injectors will do for that hp maybe fuel pump you have? Is the evo fmic working good for you? I would port the o2 and the hotside of the 14b to help with boost creep.
 
Stock fuel I just wanted to push it a little so I turned it on up. I plan to buy a aftermarket o2 housing friday I hope I don't have to pull my turbo off and the Evo front mount is almost perfect for my set up I love it. I plan to by link and put the 560s in get a fpr and 255 then hope for 300 wheel.

I would just port the hell out of the stock 2g o2 can always port the 14b hotside or get a 7cm hotside. Those fuel mods should get you 300whp are you 5 speed?
 
Very nice bro! Those are solid numbers and it seems efficient given that you couldnt be flowing much more than 30lbs at 16psi on a 14b. Have you done extensive tuning? Ign timing to be more precise? Or is this stock ecu/SAFC??
 
yes sir thats all that is done to the car. It was owned by a woman from florida was completely factory when I got it! And it is a 5 speed car I forgot to answer that question.
 
Before you get all gung ho on the ECMLink train, check to see if you have the flashable H8 ECU. If you do, just grab the Tactrix 2.0 cable and go! 270fwhp on 16psi is about what I'd expect with those mods and a well taken care of/maintained 7 bolt(higher compression, higher velocity head, etc). Check the ECU and if it's flashable get the cable, a Walbro 255/AFPR, and some Evo 560's and turn the boost up to 20/21. Grab a 7cm hotside and port the ever living shit out of the 02 housing and that will help with creep a little bit at least. 300fwhp wouldn't be out of the question at all with what I mentioned above.

Where would I get the software? I can grab some cams for 200 hks 272's that would get me to almost 350 I would hope on 20psi
 
To the op 98 tsi..I would add a set of arp headstuds,and a new hg, I myself use the 7cm turbine housing on my 14b and im loving it.Just something to look into,after checking into flashing your ecu,and that afpr you mentioned.

So ill be keeping an eye on your progress.;)

HKS 272 cams would help. I've not pushed the 14B enough to say for sure yay or nay on 350hp, but I would imagine 330fwhp wouldn't be out of the question. Keep in mind though, the 14B's don't like life at over 20lbs of boost, so I wouldn't push it too hard.



Also, where in the hell are you getting HKS 272's for $200? :p I would have bought them yesterday if I could find them in good shape for that low...also, Ceddymods is the program/software that you can download for free. The bigmaps/speed density stuff requires a $25 donation(or is it $50...either way it's not much), but is well worth it. :)

You misread what he typed, he wrote that he had Evo injectors sitting in a box ready to drop in. Not that he's running them.
 
cracked dsm my dyno pull video and numbers are on TNMOG they was calling me a liar about my numbers and being all kind of ass holes man. I am from lebanon look me up on facebook my names David Johnson some tuning help would be great!

And I know its not the best idea but.....my head gasket has been blown these numbers are with a blown head gasket. I plan to do that with in the next few weeks with a water pump and a oil pump. new timing components also.

I was on 93 octane fuel.
 
yeah stock injectors are still in the car my 560's are laying in the box in my garage. I want to put them in when I do the FPR and fuel pump.

I picked the talon up for 3k with the blown head gasket....

14b was 70 bucks
oil feed line kit was 40 bucks for the 14b from the oil filter housing to turbo
down pipe was 80
cat back was 120
bov was 150 used off a evo
front mount was 80
and the piping kit is universal kit from ebay 80 bucks

I just wanted to see what I could make the pulls were 60 bucks for 3. I shot for 220 and was stoked to make 272....Now I plan to get more serious with the build after the head gasket is repaired. while the heads off it will be getting a 3 angle valve job a good cleaning and a milling.
