Can you please advice me as to where from can i pump oil in the oil circuit of my engine before the first run?
I have just rebuild my 6 bolt engine with many many goodies inside and i don't what to crank it knowing that there maybe be oil starvation before the oil pump can do its job.
Can you please help?
Picture as always will be more that welcomed...
Cheers

Thank you so much for all your information....
Although i had tried to do my homework and seached before posting,somehow i missed this...
Thanx again:hellyeah::hellyeah::hellyeah:

As long as you pre-lubed the cams in the cylinder head there is no reason to waste your time spinning the oil pump. The second you start cranking the motor over oil pressure is built. Just my $.02

More direct link that can be found in above post. This method works very well and is the method I've chosen on every build I've performed with great results. Going to use about a half-gallon bottle, typically, before you start to see oil in the head depending on how ferociously you pump.

I did the exact same way. I had no issues starting up. My engine builder was impressed how well it worked.:thumb:

One thing about priming the oil. Do it only after cams and rockers are in place, otherwise the oil pressure will extend the lifters and that will (if lifters are not drained) cause valve damage.
