so i was driving home on xmas day and my car pulled to the passenger side really bad out of no were. at first i thought it was the road but i drove a lil more and it did it again so i pulled over thinking i broke a ball joint or something but my tire was straight still. now i will say i noticed my boot is torn and i need to replace that axle but after talking with a guy at raxles he told me the axle would not cause what i had happen. so i am wondering if any one has any advise on what to do about this. i did have my ball joints redone under recall like 7 years ago. but now i need some advice here before i go and buy the knuckle package for that side cause it includes the bent and lateral arm.

like i said the car didnt yank out of my hands it just started to pull hard to that side out of no were so i am lost here

thanks guys and gals

Check tires pressure then take it to an alignment shop. There is nothing you can do in your garage to correctly align the vehicle.

ya tire presser is fine and my aliment was always fine tell this happened im just worried about a ball joint breaking and the car slamming in to the ground like i have herd of dsms doing. has any one ever had this happen to them also i was able to drive the car home with out it doing it again but im just scared now and don't have a ton of money to just through parts at it

also the pull to the passenger side was not a lil pull it was like i was being pushed at the curb

ok kinda a dumb question but how should i do that . do u mean yank on the lateral arm and curved arm or something what would i look for to no if the ball joint is bad. also the straight arm bolt top is what hit my axle boot and tore it wide open so i have no grease in there at all. i have a new axle to put in already just want to do it all at once sense the weather here sucks and i have to do it out side in the snow

well from what I've heard, the axles can tend to rust onto the wheel bearing. Making it very difficult to take out unless you have the proper tools and possibly a new bearing to go with it. As far as checking to see if anything is loose, you have to get it on the hoist and look at the suspension very closely. Or bring it to a trusted mech. GL

Jack the car up and place jack stands under it to support the car from falling on you. Try to move the wheel up and down to check for any play. You can also remove the wheel and try moving the knuckle up and down if you can't tell with the wheel on. You will see movement in the ball joint if its bad. I don't understand how the boot got ripped, sounds like you have some play in your suspension. If you can't do this on your own you should take it to a mechanic or ask someone to help you.

Then take it to an alignment shop and they more times than not will give you a free check and quote as to what needs to be replaced. That way you aren't guessing at home. Then take it home and do it yourself if you feel comfortable.
