Well guys i recently bought a 6bolt that had minor valve damage for my 1g ina 2g swap. Im not sure the route i should take, and was looking for some advice. I know i want to run an e316g, and push it all the way to the limit. Im looking for 400+ hp and low 12s. So yesterday i took apart the block to see what kind of condition it was in. It doesnt look too bad although it does need to be cleaned up. The first question i have is should i go with forged or stock internals for the botom end? What would i need to replace if i did it myself? heres som pics, how does everything look to you guys?

even though a 16g doesnt really need forged internals, I would put them in anyway since you have the motor apart.

Might as well be the best build you can while you've already got the motor dismantled, especially since it leaves growing room in the future.

Most people will step up from a 16g anyway, me for one. I always said my goal was to run 12s and a 16g was fine....til I realized 12's weren't all that quick, so no more 16g now LOL

thats true, i just want to get everythin to make a nasty e316g for now. ill prob upgrade later down the road too

stock crank, eagle rods, forged pistons (if its a 6 bolt, then get the pistons in a higher compression ratio to get that bigger turbo spooling faster), upgrade the valves, springs, and retainers... then get DSMlink... tune it right, and you could probably get to 12's quite easily and beyond.... you might also want to think about a 2.3 stroker kit... that would make a very juicy ride...

depends on how you can get that power to hook up... get GOOD tires... 2.3 will for sure make you get more power, and it will probably up how much torque your car will have after mods as opposed to stock stroke... you will almost for sure need a tune after stroking it... hehehe

ya, this is true so if i can find a machine shop to put the 2g pistons 1g rods together i could put the money saved tword dsmlink
