hey ya'll,
I recently bought a 1g talon awd turbo that had a blown headgasket
well, when I took the head off I found out it had some heat marks on number 3 and 4 cylinders where the headgasket was blown
Sooo, out came the engine
I originally planned on boring it out and honing it and using my 1g big rods with a 2g piston but then cam ANOTHER problem
One of the corners of the block had at one time broken off and been Mig welded back on.
I don't really want to put money in a block that I would have to worry about breaking all the time.
Do you think it would be fine for me to replace ALL the bearings in the current engine. Do a very mild Hone. and then put the same pistons and pistons rings back into the car? what about the stock connecting rod bolts? I've heard you cannot retorque the stock ones.
I plan on purchasing a spare block a friend of mine has that is in perfect condition. I just don't want to build this particular block, but I need the car running
let me know what you think,
thanks,
John
