I completely agree.

I see what your saying and agree with most of it .

although ive seen the sc61 put out more power then say a t3/60-1 (and others) running the same exh side.

I made 481 whp with this turbo in my front wheel drive. It is a great turbo, and spools like mentioned before, 4000rpm + third gear = FWD tire spin. Check my gallery for specs and dyno charts, the 480hp chart, must be clicked on twice for the enlarged version. The link only gives you an x

How much of a power increase are we talking here? The 60-1 isn't all that efficient but flows a lot of air. Also, it is really meant to go into the to4s cover or efficiency is sacrificed even more. I bet the difference is in the efficiency in this case, especially since they flow pretty close to the same (60-1 flows 60lb/min vs. 65lb/min).

What psi were you running on the 11.9 pass and on teh 408/480 dyno(s)

I want to mimick you 11.9 with my fwd. Any idea on power output on that pass? Have you had any probalems with the axles?

22psi on the 11.9 run probably in the high 300hp range. Any higher boost and it was spinning the slicks most of the way down the track.

I was at 28psi on the 480whp dyno, and was using a completely different setup on the 408(frank 7 and leaking intercooler). No axle problems except on the street when spinning and hitting a pothole or something.

What size slicks are you running? 24x8.5? I want to give them a shot to see if I can crack an 11 also.

To be this back on topic, and fp green or pte 50 trim could make similar power numbers to the sc61 used by 92turbo at 28 psi. Probably somewhat less due to the efficiency of the gt40 wheel at that level, but it is still very possible. The turbo (if it was a 50 trim) would be approaching it's upper limits but is still capable of laying down that power. Now cranking the boost even more would put it over 500 for sure. I think spinning the tires form a 3rg gear roll would be nuts!

Don't think I am trying to take anyhting away from your acomplishment as 480 whp is way more than respectable. I would love to post that kind of dyno sheet on the local forums.

480whp was what it was at when I let out. I stopped at around 7000rpm and the chart was still climbing, look at the slope. I had the motor built to make top end power and at the track I twist it to 9000rpm, I just got chicken that day. Dyno makes me a litlle scared with all that load. 500+whp is no problem. And 480 whp is not shabby on any website, especially for a non-sponsered car. Finally, I am no tuning expert and I am sure that someone with more experience could have made more power than me.
