I'm thinking about getting a prothane solid black mount for front only and read when using on front and/or rear only that engine vibration is not increased at all. Is that true? How hard to get old rubber out and pound in prothane? Thanks!

I have just the front and back in my wife's Spyder and you can't feel any vibrations at all. Very simple to install on the 2G because they are both just added into the mount.

I will second that, with the insert on the front only it will not make much of a difference. The engine and trans mounts will make a big difference.

Which of these is best?

Are you 1g or 2g? 1g has solids a.d 2g uses inserts but!!!! On here is a link to a prothane part number to make the solid work for a 2g! The inserts really dont work! I hade them and they cracked and really are a waste of money, but i had f/r/engine solid and there is zero vibrations! The only vibrations i got was when i out the tranny solid mount in!

I have 1g and replacing front only. I thought my options were either buying the black prothane mount shown in pics or the red inserts. I was leaning towards getting the prothane black mount.

Well from my understanding prothane only make a solid for the 1g but i could be wrong though. You might aswell do front and rear. Stops all motion that way front/back anyway as 1 wont really do you any good.

Does anyone have a site to buy just the inserts for the front and back my tranny mounts and the other engine mount by the timing belt are in great condition ... the same can't be said about the rear or front

I believe for 1g front motor mounts there's a choice of either using inserts or solid black -or- red prothanes.

If that's indeed true my question is which is recommended?

So can anyone comment on above post? I'm still not sure what is best to get for the front mount, the inserts or the solid mount? If I get the solid is it hard to get into my stock non-oem mount body?
