Proper way and order for piston ring install?

I am about to be installing my piston rings,I have 3 questions.

1. Do I need a piston ring expander tool?

2. Do I install them from the bottom of the piston,or top?

3. In what order do I install them? oil ring first then middle to top?

Any input is appreciated.

Yes you need the ring expander. If you try by hand you will likely break the rings. I don't think order matters, but if you just start at the top or the bottom and then go in order up or down. I alway go over the top of the piston and put the bottom ring on first and then go up. There is a lot of info on this do a search.
