Alright, let me first off state that i've been searching this forum for over an hour and i can't really come up with concrete answers on the particular projector headlights i'm looking at on ebay (all the links in the previous threads no longer work).. long story short someone backed into my front end.. and i can buy whatever kind of headlights i want with any kind of bulbs.. I am not planning on doing the HID conversion.. and the silverstars are pretty good so i hear.. I am aware that the projectors dont usually have as good of lighting at the stock ones.. but my old ones were projectors and i liked them. I am looking to buy halo projectors.. and i looked on ebay and came up with a couple but i was hoping to get some feedback as to the size of the bulbs (they dont really clearly state it in the descriptions) and if one was better than the other and which would be easiest to install..

These might even be the same headlights its hard to tell from a single picture..

Thanks..

the 1st and 2nd are the same, i bought a set of those about 2 weeks ago but havent had time to install them. they look really nice and cant wait to get them in

99% of the time they are H1 and H3 bulbs. I got mine off ebay because they SAID they used 9005/9006 bulbs but i got them and they were H1 and H3 bulbs. I was pretty mad and the company never replied to my emails or anything....the joys of ebay

I personally bought ones that look like the first and second links that you posted. I love them and get compliments on them all the time.

You do realize that the 97-99 headlights are different from the ones for a 95, right? I don't know if they will still fit or not, but I know they are different shape. Something else to watch out for.....I did a 97 conversion on my car, so I got 97 headlights. Didn't realize that the connectors were totally different. The 95 has some sort of 2 pin connector, and the ones that I got were had 3 pins. Ended up having to electrical tape the wires together, so it wasn't too big of a deal, but still a little annoying since I didn't realize I would have to do it.

don't buy off ebay i bought off the same site for my 95 talon and there is a gap between the bumper and the end of the headlight housing

I have the one's that are on the first link. The gap on the passenger side is not very noticable (mabey 2-3mm), and on the drivers side there isn't one. The only problem with getting aftermarket headlights is that they require you taking off the whole front bumper to get them to go on... unless you do some major stretching to your urethane.

My dad and I installed mine in about 5-6 hours; partially due to the fact that until an hour in, we didn't remove the bumper.

Process:
  • Take off the bumper (~1 hour)
  • Remove and splice existing OEM headlight harness (~30 minutes)
  • Install the aftermarket headlights (~30-45 minutes)
  • Reattach the bumper (~1 hour)

The bumper (at least on a 99) has 5 main center bolts, and 1 in each wheel well (after you pull the body clips holding on the inner skirt.
Each headlight should have a total of three bolts holding them in place; one that is on the top, and 2 that are to the extreme left/right of light.

Some minor adjustment may be needed in your bumper which can be fixed by adding in rubber washers, and tightening/loosening of the bolts holding the lights in place.

Oh.. and I forgot one thing... The directions that came with mine were printed in both Japanese and English. The 3rd step was the same as the 2nd in English but different in Japanese... which kindof threw me off... Anywho, long story short, there will be 2 wires coming out of the bottom of the light assembly. Splice the wire that leads to the side marker on each side of the car, and match green to red, and black to black. This is what powers the halo.

bought the first ones and have a gap inbetween the fenders and headlights plus there is about a 1/4 inch gap between the bottom of them and my bumper..but i sure thats ### my front bumper is warped LOL

Listen to mooglepimp, make sure you order 2ga headlights not 2gb.

Well like i said, someone backed into me.. The bumper is being replaced, and so are the headlights - so the bumper is coming off.. I also have a 97 conversion, and previously had 97 projectors so i'm aware of that. I'm not sure on what kind of bulbs to get (silverstars?) and i was also curious as to if the halos burned out easy and if there is an easy way to make the halo blue.. (thats probably illegal hehe)

I have the third one you were looking at and the gap on the passengers side is also there. I have a 99 eclipse and for some reason the gap is there on most cars with aftermarket headlights. Ive had my halos on the car for two years and they haven't burnt out yet (I don't think they will anytime soon). One thing to keep in mind, with the third link you provided, it is hard to adjust the lights up and down because the adjusting knob is ribbed and hard to turn. The only way to turn them is to use a big pair of pliers or use a thick glove and try with your hand. Trust me, I cut my hand a lot trying to adjust them.

I have the helo ones on ebay, and thought that no one else had that gap on the sides  but, there is a gap. I kind of fixed mine by adjusting it to sit lower. The gap is only about | | on the drivers side, and the passenger side is completely perfect.

i have these and they are identical to the oem but they have halos to. they have all the right bulb covers adjustment gears and the turn signals. i have these for my 98 gst but you can also get them for 95, 96 dsms. go to other auctions just like the ones you posted look at the pictures that show the backs of the lights youll see what i mean and this is why they usually donot show the backs of the lights. buy the ones i did perfect quality comes with all the bulbs and new bolts.

i got the projector with halo from ebay with the blackhose ( not installed yet ) i will post some pictures later this week .. any recomendation about what brand of bulb lights to get from ? silverstart ? APC ? eurolite ? ( the bulbs are H1 and H3 )

Even though they say that they are plug and play... they arent.. you still gotta splice wires in order to hook them up...

Probably because you have a 95-96 DSM, most projectors are for 97-99 DSMs.

I have the First link, I love them. I didn't have a gap. But I do have a 97 Eclipse.

The first and the second are the same thing... the 3rd ones dont even look decent :( go with the 1st ones

Don't get me wrong, projector headlights are cool and look better than OEM. I've learned that the actual halo part of the projector headlights are quite faulty. After about a couple weeks use, either the halo lights stop working or look half-ass, meaning it partially turns on and blinks horribly. My point is to be careful on your decisions, it will affect how the headlights will look and how much you spent for something that may not work.

That's my $.02.
