I was wondering about the brightness & viewing angle of these projectors. I'm guessing they're brighter than the OEM lights but do they light up a wider area? Don't want to downgrade while upgrading

Thanks!

I have bought the same pair except chrome. The brightness quality is the same as the stock headlights. The one thing that I dont like about the headlights is that the halo is around the headlight so when you have your headlights on at night you dont even see the halos. The only time you can really see the halos is when you have your park lights on. The halos are not very bright at all. Although they do look alot better than stock headlights and when installed you may have to do some alignment.

ROFL ah ebay, If you look at my sig you can see I have projectors too. Well all can say is they suck. The beam is scaterd onto about three smaller ones and im maxed out on adjustment.
Im going to take them off and put my stockers on while I modify them for more adjustment, and maybe a HID conversion thrown in for kicks :sneaky:

EDIT: just to give an example, when im driving in the country, which is most of the time, I need my fogs on to see safely. In the city its not as bad.

Thanks for the input guys!

I had a similar thread on talk, and the concensus there was that you need to get brighter bulbs for these eBay projectors.

Really guys? My headlights are bright!! Way bright! I get flashed all the time. I was wondering if I could adjust them as they didn't look like they could. Maybe I didn't look close enough. ????

Depending on what kind you get, there should be adjustment knobs on the back. I just got a pair, and they are definitely brighter than stock! (cut-off is much sharper too)

On your Talon, you'd also have the onus of the Headlight Gap.
Yeah, but it doesn't even look bad on a black car :)

can a retro fit be done to these lights common on other ebay projector headlights?

I'm guessing by retrofit you mean HID. They can be done on any headlight. The only difference is how much work is involved and how good the final product turns out. Using a headlight that is already a projector will save you some fabrication when you put the new projectors in.

I got those lights., and mine are brighter then my fogged up 2GA ones.
Fit is a little off though ( I got some gaps..)

I have seen 3 different types of ebay projector headlights and all have really crappy optics. I personally have APC dual projectors and man am I sorry I wasted the $100 on them, I wish I would of just forked out the $350 for some black housing 2gb's.

To get my projectors to even point in a close to correct position I had to crank the little cam nut in the back all the way down to where the projector housing was touching the clear face cover which over the winter cracked on both sides.

My first set was the angel eyes and I had no problems with light output with Sylvania Silverstar bulbs. From what I've seen, the optics are hit or miss. I did an HID retrofit in those and loved the output, but hated the angel eye look. I've since picked up a set of the black housing 'stock looking' projectors with another retrofit and am now 100% happy with the look both with the lights on and off.

Do the ebay projectors need any fabrication done when trying to install them? wiring?

Both sets eBay projectors I have had were always plug and play. If you have the units with halos, then they require a seperate power and ground wire splice.

I had to take the wiring harness out of my stock lights, and wire the halos up tot he side markers.
I guess some get different kinds (plug and play, and some minor modding)

i traded some one my stockers for a set of the projetor headlight but they didnt have the halo (i think they belong on BMW's only - just my opinon). After i got them i retro fit some EVO 8 projector housings and hid bulbs in it. The difference was crazy. While i had them apart i painted the chrome housing with high temp semi-gloss black.
