project idea...

so my eclipse keeps doggin my for money- now i need a clutch , throw out bearing, and pressure plate- on top of the ecu and possibly tranny being second always grinds and so does third-...so i got an idea and want some input on it.

i have a option to buy a 95 neon- just a normal ass neon, but its kitted has euro tails and wing with zr3 fenders, they want 400$ for the car- but its auto =(. so i got to thinking--- what would i need and how hard would it be to put the new rebuilt 4g63t motor out of my eclipse in it? and would the tranny bolt up??? ### id love to use that motor instead of selling it for way way way less then i got in it- ### i cant post it no place online as im not a "proven member"and i have to move the car before the winter so yea id love to use the motor but i dont even know if i should buy this neon if i cant do it- think it would make a bad ass lil car- what you guys think???
what would i need and how hard- would the tranny bolt up-???

why don't you get the neon for a dd till you get the dsm running,

Well if you've already put a decent amount of time and money into your DSM it would be a shame to bail on it now. And besides there's also the obvious point. Would you rather drive a DSM or a Neon? Tough choice huh? Work on the DSM. I know they can be a pain as does probably everyone on the site, but they're old. It's expected. There's also a reason that so many people are passionate enough about their DSM to not only keep it, but to spend money and time on it and to spend countless hours on a website talking about how to fix their DSM's or about how to make them more awesome. It's because in the end it pays off.

yea thats why i havent junked it yet- i bought it for 800 and was told it was just a water pump- well needless to say it never was the water pump, but i put a radiator, a starter, altenator, plugs & performance wires, ball joint, tie rod end tires, air filter, fixed the exhaust, new calipers and pads and rotors all around- i got a pretty penny in this thing now i need a ecu, clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing and probably a tranny- so yea idk not much money to play with now but yea

Don't buy a neon for a daily they are garbage. Everyone i know who's owned one has snapped their timing belt. They hadn't even reached the 60k mile mark.

And no, a 4G63 won't work in a Neon.

However, some have put SRT-4 motors inside their old 420A powered 2gs.....no that's a sleeper.

DO NOT BUY THE NEON! just fix your car, maintain the car like you would every other car and it will be fine.

Oh and trying to put a srt motor in a neon (or any other motor and any other car) is not a drop and go deal, its very expensive, time consuming, and not worth the trouble in the long run.
