Okay. I have my stock intake air can off right now. I was wondering. Would it be a bad idea to just remove it completely. Or should I just leave it on. O and if anybody can answer, I see the lower honeycomb on my Maf, how do I remove it.

As long as the filter is still sealed up to the maf housing than it will be fine. The clamps will hold ok if you bend them. It's best to cut the bottom inch off the can so that it will hold the filter in place and the clamps will be able to clamp to it well. As far as removing the honeycomb. That is a bad idea it will create turbulence thru the maf and cause inconsistent readings.

Sounds like you're interested in doing some kind of MAF modification. Are you perhaps interested in modding your MAF because you've maxed out the Karman sensor values and are running into fuel cut? Tell us more about what you are trying to do.

Bad ideas; Running a turbo with no air filter (you're probably not planning on doing this.)
Taking all the honey combs out of the MAF (it won't work right afterwards.)

Here is what I know about MAFs which is mostly about 2G MAFs. It is a known mod to take out the side and bottom MAF honey combs to trick your car into thinking less air is passing than actual is. This was an oldschool way to get around fuel cut, and or lean your car a little bit. Typically oldschool MAF mods like this were done in conjunction with some way to fatten up the fuel map maybe with a super AFC and bigger injectors.

On my 2G MAF I carefully pulled out my side and bottom combs using a small needle nose pliers after taking out the retainer plastic.

What problem are you trying to solve inquiring minds want to know!

Im not really trying to solve a problem. I've heard that the air cans on these cars are restrictive. I also wanted to take a look at the filter in there, so I removed the air can. So now I am wondering if it would be okay to leave the aircan off. Will my car run okay, or is it better to keep it on? I'm not worried about the Maf. I'll leave it alone.

As long as you have a way to keep the filter attached to the maf housing it will be fine.
