problems with my system

alternator freshly rebuilt. optima yellow top battery. 2 500 WATT phoenix gold amps, 3 10" JL audio subs, 2.4 farad cap, dvd player, 6 cd changer, alpine head unit. what the hell is wrong. i got a brand new belt on my new alternator. i notice that when my system hits the volts drop from around 14 to about 12. anyone know the problem here?

Thats a lot of equipment, and a lot of power, is your alternator the stocker, with the stock voltage output?? I bet the alternator is your problem, cant recharge the battery fast enough, but damn man, thats a lot of electronics, thats your problem, between the amps, subs, man, thats some SERIOUS power being pulled from that battery.

with having that 2.4 farad cap you should be fine check all of your grounds and make sure that the capacitor is hooked up right.

i agree check your wiring grounds mostly and make sure cap is fully charged befor you hook it up to car. with that cap it shouldnt drain battery
