Well I was wondering if anyone else was having problems with thier act 2900 pp act street disc and act flywheel holding power? Car launches fine but when it hits 3rd and about 30-32 PSI clutch just lets go. Setup has 2k miles or so on it. Never had any problems when it was just a 2900 pp stock flywheel and stock mitsu disk. Checked everything adjusted correctly. This even happens after long highway cruising and dropping a gear then hammering it. And forget about turning on the nitrous, might as well just push in the clutch and hammer it. it will randomly hold off the bottle. FIrst time I just thought it was getting hot but now its happening almost all the time. ANyone got any ideas?

Having that same problem with my TSi. Ended up being the fingers on the pressure plate bending a getting a little worn. A few people have trouble with the ACT clutches within the 5k mile period so I would maybe look into that as well as, was the clutch broken in correctly? If not thta may be your problem

A local mid 9 second AWD had to switch back to a Fidanza from an ACT flywheel due to similar slippage problems.

Shep said that I may need to get rid of the act flywheel. His act is a custom piece. Act asked me to send back the PP for some testing first though.

Definitely keep us informed.. this is the exact setup I had planned on running in my car... im still considering what disc to run, but i was pretty set on just a street disc of some sort.

Took it back on the street tonight for one last perhaps its a fluke test run. There is absolutly no preload on the clutch, dead cold clutch held. Drive 5 minutes and slipping like hell  . Strange thing is after the break in period this thing made around 10 track passes and several hard street pulls with no problem. It wasn't until last weekend it decided it didn't want to hold. Setup has around 2k miles on it.

That sucks. I've been considering using a different disc in combination with my 2900/act streetlite flywheel. Are you running the street or race flywheel? keep me updated with what ACT says.. It's so depressing when you put something together, then have to rip it apart again. Because of some part not performing like it should. and for some reason im seeing this from ACT more an more.. recently.

Like I said before we ran stock discs befor and with the old 2900PP and a mitsu disc and act flywheel it held for some time before. It would randomly slip but I would assume its just do to heat buldup. It held to 11.0@132. Its got to be either a bad PP or the act disc/flywheel combo doesn't cut it. Hoepfully I will be motivated to take it out this weekend.

Took it all apart, looks like I have a VERY slight leak at the input shaft on the tranny and the disc got wet. Parts ordered today, hopefully this time all will go well.

I had to do the same, But I had a june flywheel. Shep told me that the chromoly was the problem with high powered cars. I put in fidanza and it's doing well so far. Lee
