I just installed my Shepherd Racing transmission and I can't get it to go into 5th gear. I've had this problem before, which ended up being a shifter linkage problem. However, when that was the problem reverse would not work either.

The tranny very easily slips into 1st-4th and reverse; I just can't get it to even think about going into 5th. I adjusted the linkage as much as possible in every direction, I just can't for the life of me find 5th.

Any suggestions?

Wow thats the first problem I have ever heard with a Shep tranny. You could take of the case cover right by the front right tire and check out fifth gear there since it only like 10 bolts.

iv yet to hear about a problem with a shep trans either. my buddy got one in his fwd, and is about the most abusive person on driveline parts iv ever seen, and its held up strong like a soldier.
but even shep, is only human, and can make mistakes. its not like he runs some huge company, hell he answers the phone any time my buddy has called about his tranny. he might have made some error putting it together, call him up, and see what he says.
