hey guys I managed to get my dsm running after 6 months of down time and rebuilding , but the problem i am having is that I cant get my 1650cc injectors to work at all , I have played with the dead time on dsm link but no luck.... I put the stock 450s back in and it fires right up ... so at this point im not sure if its the injectors or maybe im entering the wrong dead time .

for the 1650s I put the global to -72 and dead time to 480 and played with it , im stuck....

thanks in advanced!

It's possible you need the driver depending on what style of the FICs you have. Also that dead time is pretty low. I'm on 1250s with a 600µs deadtime.

Does the car run at all? If so, when its running, is the idle dropping down real low, then kicking up to, say, 1500 and then dropping back down like its trying to die again? If its doing that, its too lean because the deadtime is incorrect and you have to add deadtime. If rpms are steady, and its acting like its misfiring (kind of chugging), then its way too rich. These are my experiences playing with deadtime on huge injectors on friends cars. They make an EASYTUNE box, which puts voltage to the injectors at a static, constant 16 volts (Im pretty sure its 16 volts). This makes it SUPER easy to dial in deadtime, since you only have to set deadtime for one voltage. Hope you get it straightened out.

This can be a problem, it definitely is with 1g's. The amount of fuel that comes out when the injector is driven at the lowest amount is too much to light off properly.

I'm assuming you have an AFPR. For free, you can try dropping your fuel pressure. Using the calculator here, assume 1650 at whatever you have it at now, then a 10psi drop. The new value is what you'll put into link. If it starts, then you know the injectors are too big and you'll need one of the other options. If it doesn't, it doesn't really mean anything, as they could still be too big, but it is easy enough to try.

The easytune is a $200 12v to 18v conversion box. It works, but you can make your own pretty easily.

Another option is to change out the resistors. This is cheaper than the easy tune but it doesn't work quite as well due to the inductor/resistor relationship. Doing both will likely overload the injector driver.

The best option is a peak and hold driver. It's also expensive. When the board receives the signal from the ECU it sends a high current spike, then drops the current down to keep the injector open for the duration of the injector event.

My friend has had success with the resistor mod, and many people find easy tune works for them. I don't know anyone using a peak and hold, but they are cool if you want to get into it.

Im running my fic 1650s at -62.1 global and 825 deadtime on e85. I really hope your using a wideband to aid in dialing in the afr's. You also shouldnt need a easy tune box.

Cool thanks ill give that a try tomorrow , I have a wide band but the car wont even try to start with the 1650s at all so that doesn't do me much help. I was thinking i would have to use the easy tune but since you have the same ones i guess its safe to rule that out.

Can any one Post a log using the 1650s please
