Probably a dumb question but humor me can i rotate me wheel????

Ok I have a 1990 awd and i am replacing wheel studs on the back. my question is , if I have me rear end jacked up and my front on the ground, since it is awd, can i still rotate me rear wheel with the front wheels on the ground. I know you cant tow an awd car with the wheels on the ground, you have to use a flatbed. So rotating the wheel is kind of the same thing. I just dont want to damage drivetrain so please any help would be greatly appreciated.

How can you rotate your wheel when it is still on the ground? If you mean you will take the one on the other side in the rear and put it on this side of the rear, then yeah, technically you can do it. But when you rotate a tire you are supposed to go front to back, not side to side.

I think hes referring to turning the wheel, not rotating them.

You can turn them by hand if you want. It will take a little effort, but it can be done. It will not do any damage to your drivetrain as long as you don't turn it fast and for hours on end. But just turning it a few time will not hurt anything.

Ah, he was talking about turning his wheel and not rotating his wheel!
