Im at the 150k mark on my engine and im preparing for a head rebuild MAINLY FOR A HEAD GASKET CHANGE for around the 200k mark but miles are clocking up fast as shows and races eat up my miles.

this is my list so far i've worked out.

evo 3 cylinder head (GOT)
evo 3 intake manifold (GOT)
GSC zero tick lifters (GOT)
supertech valve stem seals (GOT) but will replace with new
supertech valve guides
supertech inconal 1mm exhaust valves
supertech 1mm SS intake valves
kelford 272 cams
???evo 9 beehives or kiggly or kelford springs? not sure on this yet.
Aem or HKS cam gears but not sure on the 3 bolts of the HKS units.
ARP cam cap bolts
ARP head bolts
felpro permatorque gasket as ive heard its great and im not decking the block!
kiggly HLA regulator

will get the head done and 3 angle valve job and bebur and oil port mod 1 and slight port and polish on the head and what ever else that they need to do.

Am I missing anything?

I know its a bit OTT as my bottom end is stock but I do plan to build that up slightly at a later date but why not build the head up and then i dont need to worry about that when I do the block.

Ive got a while before I do this so reading up and getting ordered bit by bit ready for a build so any help or advice would greatly assist

Are you still running the original timing belt? It may just be my bad luck but I've had 3 belts go bad between 140k and 150k.

My bad I just looked at your upgrades and it looks like you had that covered

Haha wouod never do that, I change them at 50k this Hks unit might be a little more due to not stretching or break as easily but will see. Im hoping I can push it to 200k in the belt and pump but who knows

evo 3 cylinder head (GOT)
evo 3 intake manifold (GOT)
GSC zero tick lifters (GOT)
supertech valve stem seals (GOT) but will replace with new---- No need to get them by the brand name, this one you can price shop, anybody's Viton blue seals will be just as good.

supertech valve guides-- Hear again, look for the deal, and keep in mind they all need some final finish work.

supertech inconal 1mm exhaust valves---- Inconel is not needed, unless you will have overly high EGT. Save some cash and get a good stainless valve, BC/GSC to name a couple.

supertech 1mm SS intake valves--- See above, there are other brands better for less cash.

kelford 272 cams
???evo 9 beehives or kiggly or kelford springs? not sure on this yet.--- Stock beehives will not be any use with the Kelford cams, a good Beehive, Kiggley or GSC, or a good seat of duals.

Aem or HKS cam gears but not sure on the 3 bolts of the HKS units.---- Several other brands to choose from, but stay with a 6 bolt lock system

ARP cam cap bolts---- Why?

ARP head bolts---- Ok that a good choice.

felpro permatorque gasket as ive heard its great and im not decking the block!-- Good choice

kiggly HLA regulator

evo 3 cylinder head (GOT)
evo 3 intake manifold (GOT)
GSC zero tick lifters (GOT)
supertech valve stem seals (GOT) but will replace with new---- No need to get them by the brand name, this one you can price shop, anybody's Viton blue seals will be just as good.
I only said supertech as thats the first name that come to mind as i have them

supertech valve guides-- Hear again, look for the deal, and keep in mind they all need some final finish work.
yeah i wont be doing the work so its either these or ferreras

supertech inconal 1mm exhaust valves---- Inconel is not needed, unless you will have overly high EGT. Save some cash and get a good stainless valve, BC/GSC to name a couple.
stainless are only about $50 less and ive read anything over 300hp you should consider them and i would like to build my head once only if I can! ive read about SS and inconel but eberyone reviews are different so i based off the best option and to help it better its either these or black nitrile vales but there the same price? I would never touch BC but GSC i would. heard to many bad things on BC stuff

supertech 1mm SS intake valves--- See above, there are other brands better for less cash.
not from whats ive looked at. i spent 3 hours on the interweb looking and jnztuning are where im going to buy from and ferrera where the only other good option out there

kelford 272 cams
???evo 9 beehives or kiggly or kelford springs? not sure on this yet.--- Stock beehives will not be any use with the Kelford cams, a good Beehive, Kiggley or GSC, or a good seat of duals.
I am considering the duals from kiggley and I think kiggley is the way to go either way as there what ive wanted for a long time now

Aem or HKS cam gears but not sure on the 3 bolts of the HKS units.---- Several other brands to choose from, but stay with a 6 bolt lock system
Ive never seen the 6 system only 5

ARP cam cap bolts---- Why?
why not? changing every other bolt so might aswell do this too

ARP head bolts---- Ok that a good choice.
PHEW got something right yay

felpro permatorque gasket as ive heard its great and im not decking the block!-- Good choice
again PHEW reading paid off on this one

Over 300 Hp and you need Inconnel? Geesh 95% of the fourm here would need them, and doubt 5% have them.

Even over 500-600 HP do not need them, a good basic 1 piece stainless valve will be just fine.

BC or GSC or even my shop valves are better than the ST valves, most ST valves are a 2 piece valve, so on the Inconel you get a stainless valve stem with a welded on inconel valve head.

So the head snaps off on a 2 piece valve, instead of bending commonly.

Just so you can see what I mean.

I would rather see you spend your cash on the Ferrea valve than the ST.

For the most part, most bronze Valve guides come from the same 2 factories, here in the US anyways. So the name matters not on the package, but the pricing is varied. From what I understand GSC makes there own tho.

When did kiggly offer duals? I though they offered beehives??? But a good spring no matter.

Sorry, I hit a "6" not a "5" for the cam gear lock down bolts. The old school 3 bolt lock system used to be known to slip.

As far as the cam cap bolts, cool, if you just want to change them to change them.

No I find it a bit funny you call BC junk, I would love to see what info you found where.

But It is no secret, I like the BC products, Valves, springs, cam gears, cams, connecting rods.

I have installed them all, more than once, and for years. Not an issue with fit or finish, weights, none of it.

But I do tend to pull out a fair amount of ST and chunk it in the scrap pile. It gets swapped over to BC for a large part.

long list to reply to but here it goes! ferrera valves it is then. and guides either ferrera or gsc. and i will get 1 piece ss then as i did not know it was a 2 piece valve.

I may be wrong on the kiggley duels and mis read it somewhere so sorry about that.

ok im sorry on the BC comment as junk as i have no real self opinion as not usng any of there products but i always read that crower is better then BC in everything but again im reading from here on this stuff, i came across this a while ago years in fact when i was reading data and info on cams. but i will stay away from ST then.

now you know why I am doing research and asking before buying as i have no clue on some of these parts and needed help but im being set straight so thank you Dale
