precision turbo how are they and how do they compare to Garrett. Yes Ive searched and pretty much all I came up was vendor stuff and help me!! threads

Well Im going for 600whp on 110 I decided a while ago to go w. gt35r but then shopping around I saw precision gt35r didn't hear much on them so did some research and like the top 15 hiuts were all vendors so didnt get much info thats why i wanted to know how they compare to garrett which Im use to hearing about.

yes pwnd indeed and Id like to get some street in depending how big the lope is ill prob have idle set at 750-1k reving up 8500 with a redline of prob 9500 I talked to Brian at Brian Crower and Shep and they said I should be able to rev up to 9500 its pushing it but should be doable, Brian said the only thing pushing it the most isnt the stroker but I only have single springs

I honestly wouldn't go over 8500 on the stroker, depending on the weight on the rods and pistons, can be a bad thing, but it's been beaten to death...... Anyway, if you want to road race, then go for the BW S258 or S362 (they tend to make great torque numbers especially S258), if you want to drag race then I would go for the Garett GT40R series turbo. Good luck.

Precision makes the Garrett product line more accessible and more applicable to the performance base.

PTE takes Garrett technology to a new level and offers variations of popular Garrett wheels sets with improvements. They also carry a one year warranty which is more than the 90 day garrett warranty that you'll never be able to get to use.

Precision has a ton of offerings. They are a quality manufacturer with very good people. We have been a distributor of PTE for years and have used their products on damn near anything we could. Great product, great people.

I'm running a 2.0L w/ BC 280 and a PTE 67. I love the reaction from the car. Its not as laggy as you might think. My draw back is the stock intake mannifold currently on the car.. I dynoed 495hp on low boost, 22 psi, and pump. Trust me it just wants to rip the front off the ground. Sick..

So, two... thumbs up for precision turbos. G/L, later:thumb:

Is it just me or is it alot harder to find hp numbers for pte then it is for garrett?

Currently by ear.. but rev limits set at 9200 until I can fix the tach issue. Thats why I can't give you an exact spool rpm.

The gt35r and the PTE 6152R_(enter whatever) is a garrett ball bearing gt35r with a 1 year warranty. You can get at least a non-ball-bearing version of this turbo that will bolton to your manifold. However, the non-ball bearing shows to be less efficient. More exhaust gases are needed to flow through the turbine to keep the compressor spooled. Less is exiting through the wastegate and thus the turbine "flows less" or less power is generated per psi. And the spool speed suffers. But no one considering 600whp really is obliged to keep their stock exhaust manifold any how. So get a better exhaust manifold and go for the BB version. . .

HP numbers for garrett turbos are HP numbers for PTE turbos. The turbine housings are different. Some say the garrett turbine housings flow more/better than pte turbine housings. If your just can't get to your goal no matter what you can simply swap housings. Although, it seams that only the bolton housings seam to be the housings causing the guys to complain. That immediately puts the exhaust manifold and 02 housing in suspect not just the turbine housings. . . It's something that only YOU and 'your tuner' can find out. You'll have to take a leap of faith. If you're not sold on PTE, but are on garrett, then garrett got the sale. Both the "raw" gt35r and the SC61 have laid down your goal. Both have been proven streetable with a 2.4L and some boast good road manners with a 2.0L. Your transmission, cams, and manifold give you enough to alter your point of view of your rev range. IOW, tach higher through town because everything you bought is setup to handle it. Didn't you buy those parts for that purpose? :p

I can get a garrett turbo for 900 and punishment racing budget manifold for 250 the only problem pretty much every t3 o2 housing is 2.5 If I did this it would be decently cheaper then the punishment racing gt35r package
