Hi, I am new to these forums so I'll try and do this right. I went to the track last night for the first time with my talon (I have been working on it a lot getting it ready). I have installed everything myself and I dont think I'm where I should be with times. I have free mods, K+N, 3 inch exhaust with flowmaster muffler, 2g manifold, ported o2 housing, big 16g ported turbo, arp headstuds, 2600 act kit, fidanza flywheel, MBC set at 15lbs, stock fuel system, BPR6es plugs, oversized comp. outlet pipe, NO boost leaks. I only had time to run 3 times but all were mid 14's...on to my question..when my car is not quite warmed up to operating temp, it flat out hammers (i let the fluids heat up enough), but when its up to operating temp it will sometimes hesitate or studder under boost, other times it will pull almost as hard as when its cool. does anyone have any idea what I can do next to try and get rid of the studdering? I ordered magnecor wires last night so I'll try them when they get here but any ideas in the meantime? Thanks in advance. Zach

i think it could very well be your driving, if not that..since you say ur getting full boost...compression might have something to do with it.

Also if your running a stock fuel system, give some attention to that. At least get a walbro 190lph fuel pump, there like 90 bucks and are a wise investment.

I put new rings in the engine about 3 months ago so if its compression then it would have to be from a bad head. I will check that tomorrow and also I bought a rewire kit as well as a 255 fuel pump last night that I will still put in. I'll keep you posted, thanks.

With that 255 you are going to need larger injectors, along with something to controll the extra fuel (safc, etc). If you havn't already, with those mods some tuning is in order as well. Like somebody said before though, it could be your driving skills as well. So just work on that too, practice practice practice. Just my 2 cents, *chink* *chink*

sounds like some of the problems that i have been having
i did the fuel pump rewire on saturday will have to see how it does later on this week
some background i have a 98 gst no mods nothing still stock exhaust i just purchased the car 2 months ago love it when its all there but not really confident in its ability to perform when i need it to. i hope this helps another member said to check the blow off valve for a leaking unit ill try that next.

Lately my car has been running a little bit better then it was earlier this week. I havent changed anything but it has been a bit cooler outside. A few people were telling me that the stock side-mount intercooler just can't handle getting rid of the heat so thats a possibility of its hesitation. Does anyone else notice that their car runs exceptionally faster when its slightly below the normal operating temperature?

ps friday night at the track ran with the car operating temp, managed a 14.4 with 1.9 60 ft. Let the car cool down for about an hour and ran a 13.4 with 1.80 60 ft time....go figure
