I was installing a new clutch over the last week, while I installed it I arced the power wire to the passenger motor mount (battery relocated in trunk). Now that the clutch is done everything seemed normal; drove perfect for about five miles until the voltage started to decrease and finally ran out of juice. First thought was a a bad alternator, so I jumped the car and removed the power cable from the battery to see if the car would run off the alternator and died immediately. I took the alternator off and had it tested at three different local auto stores and it passed 2/3. Just to be safe i bought a new one from Pep-Boys and was still having the same issue. Checked the alternator fuse under the hood (100 amp) and was fine. Next I tested the battery which also passed and was charged by the store. I put the battery back in, started the car, and decided to do one more test. I removed the alternator fuse under the hood and tested the voltage coming directly from the alternator and read 4.1V (which normal read 14v when car was running). If everything is connected the power coming off the alternator is 12.3V (same as the battery). Any ideas?
my mods are:
