alt. issues

ok i have code p1500 and yes iv checked the forums on it but mines weird or different. ok so i have a cel so i scanned and got this code. soo i figured first i should check the connections did that and found that the connector for the alt. was really screwed up the two bigger wires and the little white one had some how became one wire (all the insulation was off and they where up against each other) so i took it ok and fixed the clip... cleared the code drove around and the code came back!!!!

now the question did the alt. fry or worse off is the ecu dead??? any help would be great thanks

the alt. puts out a solid 14.7 volts even when reving the motor

That codes looks like it's a VSS code (Vehicle speed sensor) I'm not sure if you fried something related to the VSS? Check first and make sure the wire is plugged into the top of the trans and if so, make sure the wire for the VSS isn't cooked.

That code comes up as (P1500 Alternator FR Terminal Circuit). Re-check all that wiring & make sure they`re all isolated from each other & not in contact with any grounds. If the wiring checks out ok, I`d say you have a fried diode in the alternator (if this is ths case, it most likely will still charge ok) . . .

so should i ignore it or buy a new alt.???

Double check all that wiring before you do anything . . . make sure there`s no contact between the field wire & any other wires or grounds, if there is, a new alt won`t help . . .
