I went to press my buttons and they fell into the door. I just have to remove that one screw in the dip and take that cover off to fix it right? or do i have to remove the whole door panel? I hope that isnt so because i want to fix it quick and i am not motivated with all the snow on the ground. thanks

Mine was also doing the same thing so i took of the door panel and seen that the plastic broke off a little. So what i did was get a size longer & a little thicker screw and bolted it back on.

My brothers car had that problem. I fixed it with a shitload of superglue. Those buttons aren't going anywhere.

mine did the same thing.. i took the door apart and realized there was only 1 of the 4 screws holding it in.. so i found some screws in my dads toolbox and put them in.. bam

Same thing happened to mine. But i found that the posts had actually split down to the depth of the screw. I glued the split back together with pvc/abs solvent cement. Then I wrapped the entire break plus a couple turns with strong carpet thread. Then hit the thread all the way around with a good super glue. Makes a clean repair, stronger than the original. The chinese made the first canons out of wood wrapped with several layers of rope.

taking the door off is easy enough if you need to do it again, so I just rtv'd the boss back together, and rtv in the screw threads. The rtv holds together just fine, i did it about 17k miles ago. I like the rtv because it is nothing permanent as opposed to jb weld, or superglue, you can peel it off and redo it if needed, say for example the switches stop working and need replaced or something...

Just a thought to the guys who don't want to buy the stealership parts and can't find the door parts for their 2gs. Some of the older chrysler sebrings have the exact same door panels in them. The junkyard in my area didn't have any eclipses but they did have sebrings. Good luck.

I picked up some "Flow Mix Plastic Welder" @ "O'reilly's". Sets up in 5 min., cured in 24. I filed to correct heights and tapped with the screw being used (2 diff heights). Was able to reinforce and even create an entire boss with the stuff. Just be sure to use it as "second pass" within a day or so, or one of the epoxy parts hardens. Been on since October - no problems.
