Power antenna

Ok... so after I hooked up the CD player in the hubby's car, heard a very interesting noise coming from the antenna. Sounds like horrific gear grinding. It will go down no problems, but going up it sounds awful and it will eventually go up if you help it along. While I am tearing this car to bits, I would love to replace it. So here's the question... where can I find a new motor? Anyone happen to have a part number off hand? If so that would be fantabulous. Thanks guys!

Motor antenna assembly - MR228151 (for a power 2g antenna)

This comes with the antenna rod, motor antenna relay, antenna nut, antenna plug, and the rest of the assembly.

Antenna motors and masts go out every couple years especially when it gets cold and wet. IMO save yourself future headaches and $ by just getting a fixed mast (very cheap any auto store).

Meh... I wouldn't mind it, but the hubby likes the way it is when it's down. He's funny about such things. And thank you Snowborder for the part number. Gonna call my buddy the parts guy at Chrysler

Don't faint when you find out the dealer price. Here in Mn mine only lasted a couple years since it goes up/down everytime you turn the radio on/off (which for me is everytime I start the car). I tryed putting in a switch so I could always keep it up and only switch it down when I went through a car wash. After another couple years it still broke. I finally got so fed up with it, I put on a fixed mast for $10. Best thing I ever did. Just my opinion for you to consider. And I didn't even mention the other 4 times I took it apart to get it unstuck. But I know some people just like the coolness of it going up/down.

Dealer prices are ridiculous. But... in case anyone was wondering... I can get parts under "commercial" discount. Weeee! I love working at a parts store.

like 6 months ago I was at autozone and I started my car and the antenna just kept going up and finally fell out haha.

I cut it and put it back in....so now it is in a fixed down position until I get a new one.

Even with a discount your going to be out a couple 100 bucks (plus). Dealer wants 300 bones.

I picked one up local for about 5-10$. Just search for a part out here, Craigslist, or eBay.
