ANY powdercoating questions? feel free to pm me. I did the sh*t for 7 yrs in a custom shop doing everything from vc's to car frames. Rims???!!!! how nice do you want them to be. if your looking for a show finish, DON'T have them powdercoated. while it is a extremely durable finish, it is difficult to control the finish. i.e. orange-peel, dirt-nibs, craters. powder magnifies ANY imperfection in the metal. if its on a dd and your not overly concerned with perfection than by all means have them powdercoated.
Coming from the paint world and never messing with PC,I'm curious how PC sands. I know it's more durable than auto paint(that's what worries me about sanding), but I've always noticed more orange peel than I care for with PC.
BTW-I graduated from a little town just north of you-Maquoketa. Ever heard of it?
