I am going to be powder coating my valve cover that i have shaved and added AN fittings to. My question is, how well does it need to be prepped before heading out to powder coat? Will powder coat show imperfections like paint does. The reason i ask is i can see some deep sanding marks from coarse sanding on the top where the letters used to be. Should i sand this thing to a polish before hand? I believe the powder coat should be thicker than paint hiding some imperfections that you would normally see if you were going to paint. Someone with some experience please chime in and let me know what needs to be done before i take it to powder guy that way i can save some money. I've attached some pictures so you can see the sanding marks and some pitting that i'm talking about.

The middle picture that is on firewall side so you really won't be able to see that. But the small pitting around the bungs is right on top of the valve cover, they are much smaller so hopefully the powder will flow into them and smooth out.
