Edmonton,
So, sitting at a red light behind a Nissan Pathfinder. Suddenly, Pathfinder's reverse lights go on...I hesitate, but give him the benefit of the doubt that he's just going to shift back a touch because someone up front must need a lane change or something. After he's reversed back a few feet, I realize this guy isn't going to stop. I look in my rear view, get the clutch in, and bang...i'm being pushed backwards. Basically, structural damage is evident to my bumper (his hitch went right through it), and my hood got bent inwards so that it won't fully close anymore.
The main problem, is it's tough for me to diagnose the mechanical damage. I've noticed a weird intermittent soft squeal...kind of belty. But the worst thing, is that when i'm driving and maintaining a constant speed, the car will go from stoich to mega lean (to the point where I don't think it's getting fuel) at regular 3 second intervals just for a split second. So the car basically gently lunges at these intervals of fuel, no fuel...it runs perfect though while i'm acceleration or deccelerating. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? I'm going through insurance, so it will be taken into a shop, but I doubt these shops will be able to properly diagnose the issue without a little bit of help, especially with the amount of aftermarket stuff I have under the hood.
Also, "I just didn't see you behind me!" is a crap excuse when you're in an SUV with a limo tinted rear window...you did this to yourself, and now it's affected a random individual who fears his car will not be the same again. I'm pretty angry right now. Thank you for any help guys!
