So I just put in the SBR g50 and I have some troubles from the install. The water pipe that had to be dented is now leaking. It is not leaking at the dent however. It leaks at the opposite end, where it bends around the block to the water pump. It this water pipe all one piece? What is the easiest way to fix this? It pours coolant out pretty quickly, not a steady stream, but a fast drip. Could swabbing a crapload of RTV sealant around there work?

Also, I'm having a preturbo exhaust leak. It looks to be at the manifold>engine area. I used all new gaskets for 02 housing, turbo to manifold and manifold to engine. The manifold to engine is a felpro. Is this just a crappy gasket?

Thanks,
Will

You probably dislodged the water pipe from the water pump. It just slides in and is sealed by an o ring. It's possible that it moved while you hammered it. If it's too bent and causing the leak, you will need another one which you can find at a junkyard if you are lucky enough to find a 2g turbo. Yes, it's one piece.

Check your manifold to head nuts for the exhaust leak. I use nothing but OEM gaskets that... www.jnztuning.com carries all OEM parts.

I tightened the piss out of those nuts. With the water pipe, I see it takes a bend around cylinder #1 and it leaks where at that bend. That's the waterpump? It seems to be a really hard place to get to without taking off the power steering pump, or is it?

So today when I was bringing it home I opened it up. It was able to hold coolant long enough to get it to the house with the temp gauge sitting in the middle. I took it up in the rpm range and it does indeed build 15 psi like I want it to but it takes until 6k rpms to do so. We pulled off the exhaust manifold to check it out today and the gasket was curled some at the ends. Would using two gaskets help? Also, we are letting the water pipe dry off then will bandaid it with some red RTV sealant until I can get a new pipe in there.

The water pipe goes straight behind the turbo and goes into the water pump. So the thing that is perpendicular to it that it goes in is the water pump.

No, use one gasket. Buy an OEM if you have to...it's worth it.

Ok, new problem. The turbo just plain isn't wanting to fit. The raised part on the turbo where the serial numbers are usually etched into hits the block. It needs to be shaved down like 3mm. I thought this was a bolt on turbo? But with two gaskets and 2g exh. manifold its still having fitment issues.

Try some copper High temp sealant, i always thought that the egt whould be too hot, but if its not a massive leak that whould seal it. Its worked for me.
