Possible to boost leak from intake?

ok i have a 97 gst....i recently ran into a problem where my car feels like it has a boost leak and i replaced all the intercooler piping shortly after but it didnt help....i have installed a MAF adapter and air filter on the end but continued using my stock intake pipe about 2 days before i started having this problem.....is it possible that a leak between the MAF adapter and the MAF could be causing "boost leak" symptoms"? i just wanted to get some opinions before i go through all the trouble of putting my stock air box back on to only find out that that cannot cause the problem....thanks a lot guys

So you put an open eliment filter on, and you think its leaking between the filter adpater, and the MAS. Did you buy these parts from Autozone or an equal parts store? If so, take it back. They are notorious for not fitting right and leaving gaps.

And no, if there is a gap, it wont give boost leak symptoms. It will just chance sucking something into your turbo.

Well do a boost leak test and then you will be able to know if it is a boost leak.

Go to www.vfaq.com and go under mod. site. Then go to intake and go down all the way down to intake leak tester, and it tells you how to make one.
