my car seems to have a vacuum leak, but still gets about -20 on the gauge at my high idle. Is it possible that i have a set of slightly bent valves thats causing the hissing noise coming from my intake manifold area? my car runs alright other than it hits fuel cut when entering any kind of boost, and it idles at about 2300 rpms when warm and when its just started after cooling down its bogs and wants to die unless i give it some throttle, bassically acts like a vacuum leak. im stumped. :|

what is not likley? bent valve or vacuum leak? i thought leakdown test were there to see if my rings were good, and i know they are good because the block was rebuilt by buschur racing. shouldnt i try a compression test?

If you're running, it's not likely to be a bent valve(s). A leakdown tests does the same thing a compression test does, only more thoroughly- it's all combustion chamber data. My suspicion is jumped timing, but not enough teeth to bend the valves.

but thats what i dont understand, it is in almost perfect time, but if it was a quarter tooth off i dont see how it could have a leak like this. tomorrow will tell i guess. thanks for the help as usual, Defiant
