I have a pte bb 6165 with a "ported s" .70 ar compressor housing, and a .63 ar turbine housing.... We all know the .63 is going to limit hp numbers, and I've recently bought so many parts to try and make my build get at least close to the 600 hp mark, but I know with this turbine housing, it's going to limit me way down to like the 500ish hp mark if I'm lucky. The turbo is rated at like 670+ but I know thats with the largest housing they offer...
So my question is this, do you think if I port this .63 out a ways, I know I'm not gonna hit .82 numbers but would porting this out at least pick up a few hp? Even if I have to sacrifice with some lag.
Trust me I'd love to just pick up a .82 and be done with it, but porting this turbo will only cost me time and shop consumables... Which id gladly spend compared to more $.
I might just have to accept that my max at this point will be around 500.
but oh well it is what it is.
Would porting it at least put me somewhere in the middle of a .63 and .82 just so it doesn't choke on not enough flow? Or am I living in la la land.
Thanks guys.
