Porting intake

Ive heard of people cutting the 1g intake in half and then porting it completely and welding it back together, anyone know who does this?

why? total waste of time and effort IMO. It might not even be a good thing to hog out the runners too much, especially without the head being really hogged wich i recommend against. Gasket matching is all that is needed.

Hogging of the head is kind of opinionated thing. I am all for it. The Ad for it online says that there are huge gains from this manifold. How much different is it then a sheetmetal manifold? Sheetmetals offer gains. If the mass of the ports, in each manifold, are the same how could u not expect the same gains?

you gain from sheetmetal intake manifolds because of the shortened runners, as well as some have velocity stacks, tapered runners and plenums. Just by making the runner bigger isnt going to do much.

By hogging it out you may actually lose velocity?
