Is it possible to port match the thortle body flange of a magnus SMIM to fit a BBK 75mmTB with good results? BTW, my SMIM is flanged for a 1G TB.

Yeah, i really dont see why i couldnt be done but I was hoping someone on here might have done it before.

as long as u dont have to make the t-body hole big enough to where its going to interfere with the mounting bolt holes (or studs) then it shouldnt be a problem what so ever. and yes u should gain from it. u will have a touchier throttle and u might feel some get up and go loss but up top it will pay off. the more power your making initially will determine how much your engine would benefit from a mod like that.

Why not just send your manifold back to Marco and have him weld the 75mm flange on instead of "porting" out the current flange. Not positive but I think the flanges are different as far as bolt location goes.

Here's a picture of my adapter flange that I made for my Magnus. It's shows the difference between the bolt patterns. The inner set of bolt holes is the stock 1G throttle body. The outer set is for a Mustang throttle body.

I know Marco uses an overall smaller sized flange for the 1G TB flanged manifolds. If there's enough surface area to fit the larger bolt pattern of the larger TB, then it would be possible to bore it out and drill and tap it for the larger TB. So, ultimately, you'll have to do some measuring to see if it will work.

PS - I also just verified this for a fact, but the 70mm and 75mm Mustang TB's share the same bolt pattern. The only difference is in the bore diameter.
