Popping exhaust/ Power loss?

I've read threads and I haven't found any like mine. Here is my problem. Lets say I accelerate.I get pops at high rpms on 1st (Blue Sparks Come out the back), low rpms on 2nd and some on 3rd but not on 4th and 5th. My car is a stock Gst, except no cat and 3 in piping. It's not only annoying but it feels like my car dies off on acceleration while it happens. At about 10 pops during 1st -3rd gear,it makes quite a difference. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions or if it happens to any of you . Thanks again!

Do you have a boost gauge? What PSI? If you don't, get one. You're free flowing exhaust most likly upped your boost by about 4-5 psi and you're getting internittant fuel cut. You need a boost gauge and some form of boost control.

Im very surprised to say that i changed my oil and about 50% of the popping went away I only pop on 1st now weird

if i where you i would check out your spark plugs and wires. And also stated above you might want to invest in a boost gauge now along with some form of boost control.

Well my plugs and wires are brand new and im defenitely working on the boost gauge/control and no, no venting for me.

Alright well I just replaced my wires, and the plugs are fine.Now it's like my car gets shocked at 5000 rpm's on first gear it stutters horribly and after like 2-3 seconds continues on its way up the rpm's. I've also noticed that it's also popping on idle now. Any hints?

ive also had this problem, one day i was going thru 2nd gear and at the top i suddenly got power loss and a flutter/popping in my exhaust. I havent been able to drive my car for a while but i think i fixed it by plugging my fuel injectors in because the connections were loose. i used zip ties to hold them there. not sure if this will help but couldnt hurt

I had something similar happen to my 95 talon. I got the same popping and power loss especially when I put any kind of a load on it. I took it to the shop and found I had a cracked head gasket. Mine also would lose a lot of coolant but there was no visible leak.
My talon is non turbo, so I dont know about turbo problems.

what do you mean by blue spark? i havent heard that one before , but if you meant your exhaust gases look blue then you're running really rich for one reason or another, and if you actually did mean blue spark then sorry for being retarded

Well I dont know what's going on with my car anymore, its getting worse and worse. Now from 5-7 thousand rpm's on 1st and 2nd I totally have no acceleration.It just stays in shock for the whole time until I go back to lower rpm's. Im taking it to a shop soon so we'll see hopefully nothing big.

have you done a boost leak test? checked your timing? thats the direction id be looking

Just wanted to let you guys know that my problem was found. One spark plug was not working, even though it was practically new.
