Mornin all, here's my question. Well I know im gonna have car payments and insurance just like everyone else, so I won't be able to get all the stuff at once. So here goes. If I get a 2gDSM that's over 100k will it be ok for me to run my air intake and upgrade my BOV? untill I can afford upgraded Intercooler piping FMIC and other needed things?

yeah you can use the intake and bov. Just make sure you get the bov flange for the stock 2g IC piping, and also one that is able to recirculate.

Get a 1G BOV if your on the poor mans budget. There are other things you can do to make the car look nice also, polish up some stuff in your engine bay, that always helps. But if your on that budget, i wouldn't suggest boosting over stock quite yet, make sure it runs ok.

but see u didn't read what I said, my friend has givin me a BOV already, but I don't have the car just yet, so im asking would it be ok just to swap out the Stock 2g BOV and put an Air Intake on?

Yes that's fine.. you'll just need a flange for the BOV to fit on the stock 2g UICP. If it were me, I'd wait until I got a new UICP because that stock one is worthless... then spending ~$15 for a flange? Nah. Save your money and get some more patience, my .02 ;) Air intake is a go though :thumb:

I'd get a new upper intercooler pipe along with the BOV. You can get one from Dave Brode for $75.

No, you asked if it would be ok if you could upgrade your BOV. you never stated you had an upgraded one. :)

yeah the moderators on this site like to think they are a english school teacher at a catholic school or something, its just a car site not grammar school.

he meant the "I c I c" part... that's annoying to others because you can't read it, you have to decipher it like hieroglyphics and hope you guessed right... this particular example is not too bad but some of the abbreviated speech on other boards looks like documents encrypted by the NSA.

;)

Seriously guys it does make it easier for people to help you if you spell the words out. No, most of us don't care if you misspell a word here and there.

Back on topic: Before you think of using that bov make sure that you can recirculate it. Also with the intake make sure you have the recirc nipple. You really don't want to go stepping into the vented bov rats next.

Now if your aftermarket parts are properly designed to fit the niche designed by the stockers then you have no problem using those 2 parts (they are reactive and not active so you won't hurt anything by overboosting or anything else). Now I can't tell you if it will work because I am not there and can not see your parts.
