Pocketlogger vs other guys, which one?

Does any one have a link to a site that has the MMCD software. Also where are you getting the cables from??

Pocketlogger captures around 50-53 samples a second, and other than the timing features, ECU+ looks fairly ordinary.

Be careful with the terminology here. The PocketLOGGER for the 1G's logs *one* thing at around 50x/second at high RPMs. If you want to log 10 things, you get 5x/sec. The ECU+ logs ~20 things 25x/sec. As I add more stuff to the ECU+, it'll log more stuff 25x/sec.

I think the biggest drawback to the ecu+ is the wiring. I don't think MachV is selling an adapter harness and thats a lot of wires to splice.

Mach V has the harnesses on order, though I don't think we have an ETA as to when they'll get here.

I will get the email of a guy who sells the diag port to DB9 serial cable Monday his addy is on my work comp. They cost $20. Looks like you can just crimp insulated spade connectors onto the wires that goto pins 2 and 3 of the db9 connector, with two spades with a short piece of wire crimped to the same wire. So one pin has 1 spade and the other pin has 2 spades crimped to it so you can short pins 10 and 12 in the diagnostic connector under the dash. Its just serial so you definately use pins 2 & 3. Im not sure which diag port pin goes to 2 or 3 on the db9, you can just switch them around to try. Pin 2 and 3 are just switched for use on a laptop or reversed null modem style for use with a Palm.

Here is the link for the free MMCd software, dl both binary& source zip files, then from you Palm Desktop software select Install button then Add and find mmcd.prc from where ever you dl'ed the mmcd-1.5b zip file.

Heres the software to download from your palm to an excel spreadsheet. I just open it delete the rows w/out logged info then save it as an excel worksheet then as a text file to post it here.

It works great and cost $20 for the serial cable I could have made myself, $20 for a used Palm m100 off ebay, and $7 off ebay for an extra Palm serial hotsync cable that I just leave in the car full time routed under the dash and center console for quick hookup.

You can display 1 reading real time in big fonts, read and clear error codes. test soleniods, turn off individual injectors, and set audible alarms on certain parameters with 4 different alert tones. ( I have one alarm set to go off above 20 knocks and another alert tone set to go off if timing advance falls below 10*, very cool while driving). Never tried pocketlogger but mmcd seems to have everything it does for free.

I hadn't noticed that. I log knock, rpm, o2, timing, and throttle position and it still says 53/s (ish) above the display. Is it splitting its resources and 53/s is just the entire throughput?

I'd say so.
