hey,
i tried doing a search but all answers were pretty vague. so for all of you users that have used both softwares.. please post your impressions.

i'd like to see IDC and AFR on the tunerstein.

Well I have pocketlogger, well had anyways. I just downloaded the tunerstein software today, but I have not had a chance to run it on the car yet. The tunerstien does seem a little harder to use. But I think it may be better than the pocketlogger for a few reasons. One is that it is freeware. Plus the service at pocketlogger is not that great. Plus if you lose your registration code you have to pay 5 bucks just so you can use the product you already bought again. :thumbdown That upset me a lot today. My car has been down for a while and my palm went dead so when I reloaded the software I had to re-register the program. In that time I misplaced the code and now if I ever want to use the pocketlogger software again I have to pay $5. I wrote the owner and he said that it is an incentive for customers to keep the registration information. It sounds more like a punishment than incentive. So I hope the tunerstein software works with the pocketlogger cable. When I try it out I will post how it all goes. Hope this helps with your decision.

I have tried the pocketlogger cable with 2 or 3 other shareware or freeware programs and it doesn't work. I sometimes wish I had bought a regular cable and used freeware/shareware, pocketlogger may charge for the next software update as well. I like 2.0 and what was added but I would also like some of the options offered by other solutions.

Proprietary cable helps create more incentive I guess.

Pocketlogger has the best customer service. They alway send me my software withing 24hrs when i loose it, without charging me, and i do not have a serial cable code anymore. There software is far the best for a palm. Easy to use, big number display. However i now use TMO and there is no compaying, it is the best i've seen. Well except for dsmlink
