well this is off the subject, but in the midst of all this ass handing, would anyone like to be friends for a day and all meet and roll down to NOPI? i think it would be fun, considering most of us all live fairly close. i have a group of guys that are already coming with me. just hit me back if anyone is interested.

Yeah, I'll prolly see you there but I'm not sure yet. If your seriously in the market for a 4G63 I would look up some of the gateway DSM guys. There are serveral of the that have BIG knowledge of these cars. I think several of them plan to be running in the race wars as well.

well i am going to have my GSt by Tuesday, so i am considering getting some experience and running at NOPI, but i dont know how much it is, or what the rules are or anything. ??

I think NOPI might be fairly expensive but it will prolly be fun. I would not run your car all balls out until you have had a chance to assess what needs to be tuned up and what not. Just practice your launches and getting used to the tree. Anytime you want to come up to gateway and run just give me a PM there are usually several GDSM people up there.

ok sounds cool, yeh i wanted to run at nopi, but i wasnt sure hwo they were running it or wahtever, to be honest ive never even raced at nopi with a tree and eveyrhting, and i dont even knwo exactly how brakett racing works......soo i need to get ahold of some info. and last year NOPI wa only 25 per person to get in! it better not be more. LOL

OK....... Anyone know what or care about what he is talking about? N E Way moving back on to topic.

LOL, no RSTsoon i think thats backwards, i think by us all talking about the differnces of our engines, its slowly brining the 420A guys and the 4G63 guys together. just liek Kirby said. i think that by all the guys around here getting their 420A friends, and their 4g63 firneds to go to NOPI and hang out, and see waht the flip side is, could be a good experience for everyone, all you gotta do is keep an open mind, and not think"hey we have differnt engines so well never get along". I mean think about it. we all have a DSM, and thats the main thing. we all love these cars, who cars whats under the hood engine wise. waht matters is waht u do to it, and how much time and effort u put in it. not numbers and engine codes. I just thought it would be cool for the DSM guys to ALL hang out, and not just have this wall between 420A and 4g63. Just an idea.:thumb:

first things first before you head out there, if you do get that gst, throw out that weak t25 and at least throw in a 14b or better, im sure you can find one in a junkyard for cheap. small 16g would be better tho imo.

Heck yeah, there are guys out there pullin low 13s and some guy actually pulled a 12s with a 14b on a 2G if I'm not mistaken.

Yeh but NOPI is this weekend, how am i suppost to find a turbo, and install it in a week. i mean id probably be able to install it in like a day or 2, but theres not that many junkyards around here with DSM stuff. trust me ive looked. LOL

I would not worry about slapping a bigger turbo on there until you have added the proper supporting mods. Do the wrong things first without the right supporting mods you'll end up towing your car home. I would just have fun with your T25 first.

ok this is kinda off subject again, but i am confused. is there 2 NOPI shows this summer? cuase one is labeled "fast and furious nopi show" or whatever, and the other one is "nopi nationals" ( this is at gateway in St louis by the way) theres also 2 dates, one is this weekend and one is in september, liek the 20 and 21....so which is which!!?? uhhh:confused:
LOL

yeh i took care of the loan crap today, I should be pickin it up tommorow:thumb: ...so tommorow night is guna be a cruisin night haha.
So can anyone tell me like waht the stock quarter mile and 0-60 times usually run for the GSt? i am curious to know so i have a platfrom to start working from. plus that way when all the muscle car guys here talk shit about my "4 cylinder" i can give them accurate times and show em the cars not that slow. oh yeh, and what do u you guys think about the old Firbird formulas i think they are? this kids got a twhite formula., with the pop out headlights, and everytime he sees me, he feels the need to rev up his big cool car, and yell"4 cylinders suck!".....it kidna pisses me off, so i was wondering how u think a race would go between me and him in my GSt. would u think id have a chance? i really wanna show these guys that imports dont have to be all riced out, and can acually be fast. thanks
Dave

Bone stock the eclipse GS-T is rated at 15.0-15.3 give or take.
Bone stock a 1991 formula TA is rated at 14.8-15.0 give or take.

Your not that far apart and honestly if you take advantage of just the cheap mods you'll be in the high mid 14s. Heres what you need to think about doing to get the most from the GS-T with the stock T25

1. Cone filter
2. Hacked dump tube mod.
3. Test pipe(not emissions safe so keep the cat)
4. 3" cat back(2.5 will be fine but if you ever plan to upgrade the turbo you will want bigger.)
5. Upper IC pipe from dejon tool and a 1G blow off valve.
6. boost guage and boost controller. 16psi Max on stock injectors and the T25. It really does not make much power after 16psi.

There is more but that will keep you busy for a while.
There are very cheap ways to do all the things above, just don't go too cheap like using press bent exhaust.

BTW don't expect those times from your car. A lot of folks make that mistake and they forget those times are with a professional driver and a new car. If you get close to 15.1 then your doing really well.

I knocked over a .7 seconds off my 1/4 mile ET just by adding the upper IC pipe.

well it does have a K$N fliter, and a ractive muffler. but i know that doesnt help much. and not that im the best driver ever, but i do know how to drive the eclipse gears prety fast, becuase ive had the RS for quite some time, so i think that will help.also, whats a hacked dump tube mod? and here where i live we dont have emissions! so whats the best thing to do? just get rid of the cat? the first thing i am guna do is look into the IC pipe. do u have a link for it or something? and what is press bent exhaust, so i can lok out for it haha.
