I have the dreaded 7-bolt block and am planning on upgrading it to handle 400-500hp. I'm familiar with the cw problem but was told the other day to plug the oil squirters as this seems to be a popular theory. I found the post at Magnus and it makes a lot of sense. Has anybody done this besides them? And if so, any changes in oil pressure, overheating, etc.?

Thanks

I'd like to hear a little bit about this myself as I was thinking of welding my oil squirters shut.....

I'd rather have the cooling for the piston crowns. I think that Magnus has a theory that may apply in some cases, but I'm tending to think the cause of CW is more in the location, materials and tolerances of the thrust surface and bearing itself.
