I've done a large amount of searching today. Going on hour number 18 of the day. About a month ago, I blew my engine (spun rod, oil return pipe broke). And, I cracked my bell housing. So I put in my friends 6 bolt with a low mileage 4g64 Spyder trans.

He had tranny issues with his 1g and ended up buying this Spyder trans. We put this motor and this trans in his car 4 months ago but we could never get it to go into gear while running the engine. We had a stripped bolt for the bell housing to block bolts. So we pulled the motor and trans back out to retap the hole. We never put it back into his 1g.

So then I am in need of a new motor and trans so we fix the bolt hole and put it in my 2g. After about 4 long hours, I was FINALLY able to bleed the slave cylinder. Took a long time as for whatever reason, my clutch pedal sucked. I eventually gravity bleed it and got the pedal near perfect.

Start the car, sti wont go in gear. I swapped my clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, fork, everything except the flyweel since this is a 6 bolt. Wont...go....in...gear. Only way I can is if I pump the clutch and then put it in gear. I almost have to jam it. I have only been able to get it in recerse a couple times.

Im stumped and out of ideas. There is a great deal riding on this car and I need it back on the road.

Again, the only things on this now that was also on it when it was in my friends 1g is the flyweel. I tried messing with with clutch pedal adjustment with no luck. Tried it a couple different ways. I am able to push the fork towards the slave cylinder just enough. So I think that is set correctly.

Please excuse my grammer errors. I am half asleep.

i am literally having this exact problem, i ordered a master cylinder and it will be here tomorrow i alrwady installed a new slave. hope this works for me as well :)

Can you tell if your master cylinder is leaking?

Did you try the clutch pedal adjustment?

Keep us posted!

Auto FTW..You dropped the ball getting this 5 speed AJ.ROFL

I miss my AWD....but I don't miss my auto! Lol. I couldn't imagine dealing with transmission issues on an automatic.

i couldnt see any leaking i will go check again but i notice the clutch does lose pressure and not yet im going to try adjusting it today tho, i will deff keep you updated!

There is a rubber piece that the master rod goes through protruding from the inside of the car. Look at this rubber piece and see if it is wet. If it is, there is a good chance it is causing your problem.

Master cylinders like to take a sh!t following a failing slave cylinder.

I would check that adjustment first. There is a video on youtube from Jafromobile. I may have linked it to this thread, I don't remember. Very good video.

Here is a tech article on how to replace the master cylinder. It is easy to do, just not a whole lot of room to work with up under the dash. How To: Replace Clutch Master Cylinder

i checked thr adjustment and its backed all the way out to where uts completely open... i tried moving the rod but it wont spin freely or with some pliers after i got the nut loose... if its backed all the way out shouldnt it be working? the master cylinder apears to be brand new... also no leaks.. idk if this would matter but the pressure plate is one for a stage 2 kit

So you couldn't spin the master rod, even with pliers? Could you spin it the other way?

Watch this video. There is a lot of things described in this video.

okay we replaced the master cylinder and adjusted it ll kinds of ways and nothing happened... its still doing it... i guess we will try pulling the trans off and putting a stock pressure plate on it. i cant think of anything else it could be

What exactly is a stage 2 pp? That really doesn't mean anything. Who made it and whats its pressure rating. And what do you mean by its adjusted all the way in? Is it all the way in the pedal or almost coming out of the pedal? Does the pedal have any pressure? Does it ever stick to the floor? Did you check the slave for leaks?

it was a pressure plate that came with a six puck disc when i got the car... i dont know the makers or anything the guy i bought it off of said it was a stage 2 clutch setup for this car... i didnt want the clutch disk in the car but i figured i would throw the pp on with the stock clutch... i know nothing about it other than it fit on the car... it doesnt stick to the floor and i replaced the slave as well its brand new and it doesnt leak. i can adjust the master cylinder fully now but it doesnt change the problem no matter what way we adjust it.

It may be your clutch. My gf car had issues with some six puck setup and so did someone else on here. I swap in an exedy oem replacement clutch kit and its been perfect ever since. Idk if the guy on here fixed his or not. You may want to change your pp.

If he said stage 2 its probably some pos kit, cheap ebay crap. I'd change to an act 2100 or stock whichever fits your budget.
