Please Help With Decision!!

Im selling my 98 GS soon and hopefully b getting 5000$, the guy seems to be in love with my car, anyway im looking at a 97 GST with 92k miles for 6500, the car jus has basic bolt ons, but seems to be in good condition, its also a 5-speed, i just wanted to know what to watch for in terms of the tranny, or the engine, The GS im sellin has a fucced up auto tranny, so i really dont want to sell a problem and buy another, please help. Any comment wil b apretiated!

The best thing you can do is take the car for a test drive and pay antention to any problems that you are afraid of coming accross

Thanks man, but in general being that it has 92K miles, what should i be out in the look for, from my knowledge i kno the gst or gsx for tha matter are very different from the 420a which i know have...if anybody could five me some pointers,i mean i do live in nyc and to b honest i never drove stick b4 but i liek the idea, any feedbak is again..apretiated

Make sure the 60k maintaince was done.

I Have a 1997 Mistubishi Eclipse GST "Automatic" and its pretty fast for being auto i can only amagin if i would have found a manual GST but i love my car to death. 6500 not bad at all i bought mine for 6900 with just about 100k miles

Thanks everybody, this guys coming to see my gs saturday, i have my fingers crossed! ill get 5k from him and put in the rest, hopefully within the next week or two ill b the proud owner of that GST i always wanted.

Why don't you take the time and take the car to a mechanic. DO a compression test, and let it seat for a while to check for oil leaks. those are things to look at....

And be paranoid for any noise.....
