Uggghhh, I bought a ACT 2100 kit for my 1G AWD, and then I found out that they used to fail, and I need to know if they fixed that problem or do they still fail?? I do not have the $$$ to take my tranny out a second time and buy another clutch, I searched the forums, and found that long one about ACT, and I just need a straight forward answer on what you guys think I should do. I just bought it, only opened the box and removed the alignment tool and TOB, I think I can get away with returning it, but should I just keep it or get another clutch?? Need answers fast, thanks guys.

They wouldnt sell a clutch if they knew it was going to fail. I have no personal experience myself (but a friend of mine does have a 2100 in his FWD laser with no problems), but a lot of people on here swear by ACT and wouldnt buy much other. my opinion is to just keep it and put it in. If you can return it very easily and it will help you sleep at night, then go ahead and return it.

Ugh, THANK YOU. I just needed to hear something good about them, Ill Ive been reading since I bought it was bad, I thought they were great, my friend has one in his talon, beats the hell out of it, and it still works fine.

Also, I need a replacement flywheel, would it be better to get an aftermarket flywheel over the stock one??? Wouldnt the heavier weight of the stock flywheel be better when rotating at high RPM's for torque, since its gonna help the crank spin because of its weight??? One more question, is only the ring gear on the stock flywheel replaceable, or do you have to replace the whole flywheel?

lightweight aftermarket flywheels are suppose to help add some HP. A friend of mine had either and ACT or Fidanza lightweight flywheel in his 2G AWD and it made it really hard to launch becuase it seemed to grab alot faster. This is only what he told me though, so maybe he just didnt know how to drive it. I guess if you can afford one I would go for it, otherwise stock should be fine.
-you have to replace the whole flywheel
