I just got my 95 Eclipse gsx up and running. I bought the car with a blown engine and it had been sitting for a while. Here are the fix's/upgrades that I have done.
1. Rebuilt the Engine (New Pistons, Rods, Crank, Bearings)
2. Balance Shaft Eliminator
3. Front Mount Intercooler
4. DSMlink v3 lite
5. Delphia 850cc injectors
6. Fuel Rail, and new Walbro 255 fuel pump
7. T3/T4 Turbo
8. Water/Meth injection (m5 nozzle) have it set up to spray only when I go over 10 psi of boost
9. BBK 62mm Throttle body
10. New lifters
11. New front O2 sensor
12. New Plugs(E3) and wires
I have done a Boost leak-down test, and fixed all the leaks. I can not get the car to run at 100% (at least in my opinion). The car seams to be a little slugish when you take off. My car smokes the only 2 things i think it could be are valve seals or the rings havent seated. I have included a data log (its kinda long but its from when i left my house and drove to the country to get on it). I dont think my O2 voltage is right, not sure what i need to do to fix it. If Y'all could look at my log and please give me your ideas of what i need to do. I will have to make a new shorter log, cause it wont let me post it here it is too big. Thank you for your time

1. T3/T4 doesn't really tell us anything except you either bought the turbo on ebay or you own a Honda. :p J/K Is it a journal or ball bearing turbo? Where are you sourcing oil for it? Are you using a restrictor?
2. E3 spark plugs. Why are you using these? I think those are just going to cause you problems.
3. Valve stem seals are one likely culprit, especially with many miles on them.
4. How did you have the head surfaced when you rebuilt the engine? What headgasket are you using? Have you done a compression test?
5. You should be able to truncate the log to just the part you want to post, or you could also cut it into sections and post multiple files.

I have very little knowledge about these kinda cars, i normally only mess with naturally aspirated chevy 350's(in a late model dirt track race car). I will try to answer your questions the best i can.
1. how do i find out that infomation, I bought the turbo from a friend who bought 2 of them to twin turbo his mustang, i do not think it was a ebay turbo. I am getting the oil from a line that goes to right by the oil filter
2. I am using E3 plugs cause i was told they where "Damn" good plugs for that car, if i am wrong please let me know and what is a good plug to run. Dont know if it maters but i live in a desert so i might need to run a 1-2 degree colder plug.
3-4. I think your right about valve seals are bad, I only check the head to make sure it wasnt warped ( I did that myself with a 3 foot straight edge) I did not have it surfaced (i know i should have) I did do a compression test and they all where within specs
5. I have no idea how to truncate the file or cut it in sections (sorry not very computer friendly)LOL

Thank you all for your time
If you or anyone else need to know anyother info to help me then i will try to answer as fast as posible
I also post in the ECM Link forums and was able to put my log in there. here is the link

If i cant post this I am sorry

Do a google search on the part number printed on the turbo or snap a picture of it and upload it to a new post in the turbo identification thread.

Usually you need to use a restrictor in order to feed even a journal bearing turbo from the filter housing on these cars, otherwise you are likely to push oil from the CHRA into the exhaust from excessive oil pressure. Most journal bearing turbos require that oil pressure not exceed 60-70psi, the OFH can produce in excess of 120psi on an engine with a BSE. If you have a BB turbo, you need much less pressure, around 40psi at max boost. If you're feeding a BB turbo from the OFH unrestricted, you are almost guaranteed to blow the seals and trash your turbo. The best thing to do right now is install an oil pressure gauge on a T fitting at the turbo and see where you're at before it's too late and you destroy the turbo.

I would recommend using NGK BPR7ES plugs with a T3/4 turbo, possibly going to BPR8ES if you find the 7s to be too hot.

As for the headgasket, if you cleaned the deck well and are using a composite gasket, you're probably okay there. However, MLS gaskets require a very good surface finish to seal.

I don't have access to the ECMLink forums, but could view the file if you attached it here. I'll trust that you'll get good advice from their forum members on that aspect.

Delta448 thank you for the information i did take a few pictures of the turbo and put them in that thread. I am not even 100% sure i hooked the vacuum lines up correctly for the boost controller. I posted the boost controller photo with the turbo identification thread I will post the picture where i am getting the oil from here. Thank you again
