please help need to fix my DD

my dd is a 97 gst, 62xxx miles on it, 5spd manual only mods are turbo back exhaust, fuel rail and h8 ecu.

it was running fine a couple weeks ago till i noticed a squeaking in one of the wheels when i was in reverse. didn't squeak in any other gear. i drove it for a couple miles and it started driving fine, after about 5-10 minutes it started getting this very violent shake and it could hardly build any power. now the car was idling in my driveway and i got in and noticed it was over heating, i added more coolant but haven't started it yet i wanted it to cool down first. also sometimes when i shift i kind of feel something tug back on the car when im in the next gear.

please help it's my dd and idk what to check about this, i can probably answer all your questions if you have any.

edit - the car builds boost fine if i floor it and it will hold the boost but the car just gets louder and shakes harder.

Do a compression test, hg could be out, balance shaft belt, maybe do a test and tell us what you find cant tell much until thats done.

head gasket was replaced about 5-6 months ago before i bought the car (i've had the car about 5-6 months now). compression read 160-165-160-165 across the board.

i had a theory on that also, just a week or 2 ago my front passenger piston was fully released causing that brake to grab all the time, i feel like that might be it again but it didn't have the same symptoms as last time, but now when i press the brakes i feel like they're not nearly as strong as they should be for just replacing pads on both wheels and the rotor on the passenger side wheel.

ill take a look at them again though.

yeah... sound like [parking brake or even your hydrolic brakes
